Announcing: The Complete Collection of Thai Yoga Massage Videos, with Deon de Wet

I am using today’s blog to let you know about a series of five full-length videos now available in DVD format at the deonThai Website Store, which correspond to the five deonThai training workshops that I have developed, forming the deonThai METHOD Practitioner Training Program.

For me, the audio-visual segment of my practice provides more than just a chance to augment the live training program.  It constitutes a milestone that caps my first 12 years in the field. It is the culmination of the first phase of what has become my life’s work, after I did my first training in 2000 with Saul David Raye. Having now completed these learning tools, which sum up the formal curriculum of the program I have built up, I now feel free to move on to new creative ventures, finding more ways to continue my research, training and then presentation of my approach to applying the graceful and ancient Healing Art of Therapeutic Thai Massage.

Knowing that this video documentation project is now complete, I feel that my universe has shifted into a new phase and I offer it to the public as a record, even a legacy, of these past years’ work and all the wisdom I have gained from my teachers, students and clients.  I must say that I feel satisfied and fulfilled and would like to thank everyone who has crossed my path on this wonderful journey, for all their valuable contributions – from the bottom of my heart.

Specifically including my formal Thai Massage teachers: Saul David Raye, Pichest Boonthumme and Dr. C. Pierce Salguero – without whom I would not be who I am today … Thank You Very Much!

And I then would also like to thank Producer Geoff Erwin and Editor Jonathan Whittle-Unger for all their excellent work in helping me to bring this series to you now.

Apart from the above, the purpose of the 5-DVD Series can be summed up as follows:

  • Learning Companion: So students who have trained in the deonThai METHOD  have an additional learning tool, which brings the instruction manual to life. After completing a particular course, students have the ability to review and refresh, with no time limit.

  • Course Preview: For those who are trying to make up their mind about whether to take the training course, a DVD can help them decide.

  • Deepen Understanding:  For those who take the occasional class, rather than the full deonThai training program, the DVD can solidify and intensify what they have learned.

  • Professional Development: For the well-trained, experienced Thai Yoga Massage therapist who wishes to learn from the techniques of a professional colleague. Often we are so busy practicing or teaching that we forget to learn from fellow practitioners – which, has for me, always been a profound source of education.

I am also proud and excited to detail here what the whole DVD series is all about:

1. THAI YOGA MASSAGE: ESSENTIALS
Includes the complete sequence of  Essential techniques, laying down a solid groundwork foron-going practice. Length: 108 minutes.

2. THAI YOGA MASSAGE: FUNDAMENTALS
Includes the complete sequence of Fundamental techniques, additional to and mainly different from the Essentials, continuing the groundwork for effective on-going practice. Length: 123 minutes.

3. THAI YOGA MASSAGE: FOUNDATION
Combines the core sets of Essential & Fundamental techniques into the comprehensive Level 1 deonThai METHOD Foundation sequence.  Length: 186 minutes (2-DVD set).

4. THAI YOGA MASSAGE: SIDE-LYING & SEATED
Includes a full sequence of additional techniques for performing a complete session with the client lying on their side, with additional seated positions, showing both the Royal and the Commoner style variations of acupressure application. Length: 75 minutes.

5. THAI YOGA MASSAGE: EIGHT LIMBS
Includes a whole new repertoire of techniques, using the feet, knees and elbows, thereby saving the hands. This video demonstrates the quintessence of the deonThai METHOD, commoner-style of Thai Massage as practiced in the villages and countryside of Thailand. Length: 104 minutes.

Each is affordably priced at $19.95 for a single DVD, and $29.95 for the 2-DVD set.   They are now available, at the deonThai Store Webpage, and will soon also be available through Amazon.com.

In closing, of course, as always I truly welcome your feedback and comments – especially about your own experiences with me, the deonThai METHOD and Therapeutic Thai Massage in general.

Until next time,

NAMASTE.
